I feel bad, taking a picture of my new phone with my old one, it makes me feel guilty, because this phone got me through alot, I drop it at least 4 times a day…lose it about 6 times, once or twice it was flung from a treadmill…I’ll be safer this time I swear! I’ll exercise using this phone not the new one haha.

So, why the switch? I’m not just a lemming jumping off a bridge, intact I would have gotten a replacement of this phone if I could have, but 8gb would not last me a week, ice already nearly filled this phone up, downgrading would be an issue.

But I was willing to let this upgrade pass me by, except, I had one of my….issues. While running the phone fell and chipped a bit of the body, right at the headphone opening and then some of the metal inside the port loosened and came out. It still works, but I use my headphone port daily, and I’m worried about it breaking more.

So I’ll have to start using my phone as a phone, and less as an ipod, boo. But actually this new phone will be more suited to that purpose…it even looks more like a phone and less like a suped up iPod.

I haven’t switched over yet, I’ll do so after my vacation, as I am used to this phone and don’t want to risk dunking a new iPhone into Loch Ness.

With this new phone, I am looking forward to more battery time (I’m at 10% on this one, it will be shutting down any min, I need to type faster!!!) and more space.

I like that this phone fits better in my hand, the dropping of my old phone is due to my child size fingers not being able to grip, but with this new phone my fingers can actually wrap around to the front, plus this stainless steel and glass like casing seem very hard for me to destroy…I hope.

I will miss my white body phone, but as I had it covered by a case all this time you could only tell it was the white phone from looking at the back, so the lack of a white iPhone won’t kill me.

I can’t esoteric until they start rolling out decent cases of this baby, I’m especially excited about what Seidio comes out with, this case I have now feels almost feathery so I hope they make the iPhone 4 one with a similar material….also, I really hope they make this rose color again. Who would I be without a pinkish purple cell phone? ( which is funny because I only like pink tech things, like cell phones and digital cameras, other than that I am not a fan of the color pink)

The Library called I have three books to pick up, and two to return (I renewed then as to not be late today, I’m sneaky like that – one is done, just at my apartment, I still have to read “Chains” by Laurie Halse Anderson, but I’ll do it tonight in some nice airconditioned room AKA NOT MINE)

School is starting next week, Thurs and Friday are inservice days (I can opt out of Friday, but I think I’ll go in because I have lots to do) and I have been at home mostly, not my apartment. We’ve been cleaning out my Grandmother’s house (quite a job, she was a PROFESSIONAL SHOPPER) and I’ve been incharge of letting people in to fix ceilings and repair items. I’m still in shock, butI actually think seeing the house broken up like this might be helping. When it looked exactly the same, it seemed like she wasn’t gone, maybe just on one of her rides with Judy, and I would have to keep reminding myself, and it would be fresh and awful all over again.

I can’t do much school work from home, because I don’t have Library Pro on any computer but the ones at work, I asked the office for the class lists, but one school doesn’t have them ready, the poor girl has to type up the information herself, and is still waiting for them to give her the student IDS *which I need to add them to circulation* so I’m a bit stuck. The only BIG thing I have to do before school is to add the new students into the system and make cards, which can only be done from school, and not without that information. Melissa=Stuck

Instead I am reading YA books at home where it is mostly cool, cleaning out houses where it is not cool, and playing with my iphone and twitter.

I love me some twitter kids, David thinks I am insane because my facebook status updates while I am sitting across the room without me getting anywhere near the computer. :)

Speaking of Twitter:

There has been talk of youtube trying to beome Hulu-tastic. They did a redesign, that is supposed to focus more on professional content (TV shows) and less on user created content. Now, Youtube is my crack. I know most of you are iPhone addicts, and I respect that. My addiction is more simple, youtube…one of the reasons I am thinking of an iPhone is to watch youtube ALL OF THE TIME. Yes, it is that bad. I use Hulu for when I miss watching Dollhouse on fridays due to homework I put off until the last possible moment, but youtube is the best thing on the planet, just how it is.

I blame the vlogbrothers for this. Speaking of which, here is a musical explanation of the youtube situation:

So far this change hasn’t affected my ability to find people taking video of their cats:

I accept that there should be some professional content, or else how would I be able to watch this:

But I really would appreciate if youtube stayed…youtubey.

This post is brought to you by the letters: A P P L and E
Christmas came early this year:

Well, Hello here Mr. Macbook Pro. I’ve been a PC user for…well forever, other than my time setting up my brother’s powerbook, and going to the mac labs to shut down the computers when I worked at the Help Desk in college, so this Mac thing is all new to me…but so far I’m having quite a bit of fun….after learning how to right click of course.

I can’t wait to play with garage band. I just did some podcasting training, and have some fun ideas for podcasts that I can hardly wait. Back when I was a kid, my best friend and I would record our voices on cassette tapes pretending we were Radio DJs. If we were kids now I suppose we could actually be.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t trade my smurfs, ninja turtles, Voltron Force, Zoobley Zoo and Raffi for anything, but being a child now with all this technology would be pretty darn exciting as well.
